Office Furniture for Small Spaces

Got a lot of desk work to do, but not a lot of space to do it in? We hear you. Small home office spaces are not just reserved big city dwellers anymore. With real estate prices climbing in many communities across the country, a lot of people can’t afford to dedicate an entire bedroom to office space. Plus, many people are choosing to rent while delaying the purchase of a home and space is at a premium when it comes to apartments. Even at big companies, cubicles are naturally tight spaces – you can’t really spread your wings in there. So here are a couple solutions to maximize your work space:

Skip the fancy executive leather office chair and opt for a stool instead. It’s simple, functional, and easy on your wallet. Keep in mind that while stools are space-savers, they’re not ergo-friendly so you don’t want to be sitting on one for an extended period of time.

If your work doesn’t require you to use big, heavy monitors, a floating shelf can easily serve as a desk. Most shelves can accommodate office essentials like a laptop, writing utensils, a lamp, and even a small plant or a candle for ambiance.

Ditch the bulky corner desk with a hutch and convert any desk or table into a sit-to-stand workstation with a product like the Elevo. It has a compact footprint, it’s lightweight, and ships fully assembled. Plus, it’s strong enough to support 35 lbs of technology and the keyboard tray has an ergonomic tilt feature for typing while sitting or standing.
